Q: What’s the difference between the “basic” and standard / QLED units?
A: Our basic models are a great option for customers who are after an easy to use unit with a larger screen and wireless Apple CarPlay / wireless Android Auto. They still have the regular features you’ll find on any car stereo, this includes AM/FM radio, reverse camera input and they’re compatible steering wheel controls. However, they do not allow for additional apps to be installed and are not compatible with HD cameras.

Both models feature premium quality internal components and offer fast, smooth performance in normal everyday use. Where the QLED models shines though is its HD screen, with higher contrast levels and brighter colours. It is also a great choice for customers who are planning on running multiple apps at the same time, or storing large amounts of data (this could be apps, maps, music or movies).
Q: Does the unit come with a new dash frame that suits my car?
A: YES! All of our vehicle-specific units come complete with a new dash frame specific to your car. Some of our models even include a matte or gloss black finish option.
Q: Does the unit come with plug and play harnesses?
A: YES! All of our vehicle-specific units come with plug and play harnesses (no cutting or soldering is required).
Q: Will the unit retain all factory functions, including my steering wheel controls and reverse camera?
A: Yes! All of our vehicle-specific units will work with your steering wheel controls and reverse camera (some minor programming may be required to “teach” the system the buttons when first installed).
Q: Does the unit have DAB radio?
A: Not in its standard form, but we have DAB radio available as an optional extra when ordering.
Q: Does the unit use my factory microphone?
A: No, our units come with a new external microphone that can be mounted in a variety of locations, normally on top of the A pillar trim panel or on top of the steering column.
Q: Can I connect a amplifier / subwoofer to this unit?
A: Yes! All of our units have low level RCA outputs to connect amplifiers.
Q: Will I get the same or better AM/FM radio reception with your unit?
A: That’s a hard question to answer, in most cases yes you will get the same or better radio reception. In some cases, we have experienced reduced reception. This can be overcome with a booster or upgraded antenna.
Q: Can I install an aftermarket reverse camera if my car didn’t come with one?
A: YES! We have high quality reverse cameras available as optional extras.
Q: Can I connect an auxiliary camera (front facing or caravan mounted camera) to this unit?
A: YES! All of our units support an auxiliary camera. There are some limitations on this though, it’s best to contact us with specific requirements so we can clarify this for you.
Q: Is my phone going to work with wireless Apple CarPlay / Android Auto?
A: Generally speaking, if your phone is less than 5 years old it will support this function. If in doubt, send us a message with your phone model details and we can help! You can also do a simple google search.
Q: I see the unit has “dual Bluetooth”, does this mean I can connect two phones at the same time?
A: No, the dual Bluetooth chips are designed so that you can connect a phone and a Bluetooth data device (such as our OBDII adapters, dual battery monitors etc). You can connect more than one phone to the unit, but you will need to either turn off the Bluetooth of the phone you don’t want to connect, or select which phone to connect in the Bluetooth app.
Q: Can I download apps onto the unit?
A: YES! Our standard and upgraded QLED models have the Google Play store installed, we also install an alternative app (APK Pure) that doesn’t require a google account. The unit has two ways to connect to a network. The first being via a phone hotspot (WiFi) and the second being via a dedicated SIM card and antenna (SIM card holder and antenna are supplied with the kit).
Q: Do you have installations videos or instructions?
A: YES! All of our products come with installation instructions (compiled by us, written in plain English with colour photos) which are sent to you via email just after you’ve placed an order. We also include a quick start guide and QR code that will enable you to access the full installation and user guide with each unit.
Q: Can I install the unit myself?
A: YES! Provided you have some knowledge in removing dash panels etc in your car, and can follow our clear instructions, there is no reason why you shouldn’t be installing our products! Please note that if you are not confident in removing dash panels etc, then we recommend getting it installed by a professional (we can also help with suggestions here, simply send us a message after you’ve ordered and we can suggest a business that’s close to you).
Q: How much does a professional charge to install?
A: Installation charges vary depending on the vehicle, the person doing the job and the products to be installed. As a general guide, installation of our unit only ranges from $100 - $250. We can provide a more accurate estimate if you send through your vehicle details.
Q: Do you supply a tax invoice with the unit?
A: YES! As a fully registered Australian company, you will receive a tax invoice via email shortly after purchasing. Please check your “junk” email folder if you haven’t received the tax invoice within 30 minutes of placing an order.
Warranty
All of our products come with a 14 day "change of mind" refund policy and 12 months warranty (excluding ex demo products). We also offer support after this warranty period in the way of tech support and repairs.
